Talking new build in a week

hi all still in portugal for holidays but leaving soon, uni is starting so...

i need a new pc so i will be building one once i arrived, i have like 600 pounds (stupid keyboard doesnt have the symbol) not much specially cause I play games.

i have pretty much no idea of i can get with that money but i almost sure i will spend 150 on a monitor i saw so its down to 450 not much right?

i like this case looks good to me

i already have a good HD and dual layer dvd burner so for now its down to this:

GPU, CPU , cpu Cooler, case (psu) and memory

Plz give me some goods hints

You will need a motherboard as well.

Case does look nice and includes a psu but will the psu be up to the job? Going for a case with psu will give you more to spend on the other bits but the psu is the iffy bit in most cases.

Edit: If you want to go Conroe you're going to have to go for an ASRock mobo IMO otherwise you will go over budget unless you cut corners.

    ups the mobo

anyway i can only choose one after i know the chip and the cpu is my biggest doubt, the buget is tight so should i go amd single core? is conroe the best option on dual core?

i like the looks of the case but scan doesnt seem to have cases without psu

Conroe is probably the better option if going Dual Core. Most people here tend to recommend it as it overclocks better (and I believe is faster).

X2 3800 was £95 (on Today only over the weekend) or AM2 X2 3800 £103. The cheapest Conroe is around £130 (retail).

with that sort of budget and for a gamer, id recomend an AM2 single core like this one for £73 as it will give the best preformance in game for a cheep single core

also for a good gfx id recomend something like the 7600GT as can get for around £100 now and that will serve you quite well in games, albeit not at max iq maybe this?
