Fast RAM + SATA 2 on an old old mobo....
Hi Peeps,
I have an Asus P4PE based Linux server sitting under my desk at home. I'm going to reinstall in with a view to running some VM stuff on it. In order to do that, it's going to need a much bigger drive and more RAM.
I've been looking at getting something along the lines of a 320GB SATA-II drive and pinching a couple of GB of RAM from my main rig.
The RAM is going to be much faster than what's supported (although as it takes DDR, I'm guessing this won't be a problem).
What about the SATA-II drive? It should run as a SATA-I compatible one right?
Cheers...
Tom
