Just got this cooler for my E6600, but im not sure about this thermal compound business.
Heres a pic of the cooler, is that thermal compund already on there, or do i have to buy some and put it on?
Cheers.
that lovely gray/silver area is compound and its ok, but if ur doing serious ocing and upping the voltage then you could give some as7 a go, otherwise thatll be fine
AS7 o_O
I only thought AS5 was out, oh well maybe ill have to have a look at it then
Yeah the compund on it is pretty good stuff anyway, better than the stock stuff for a start
i got 1 da other day but it didn't meet my expectations. it's a bit noisy for my liking. if ur budget permits then go for zalman 9500. safe bet.
arctic cooling freezer 7 pro noisy!? Seriously, are you mad!?

BTW the pre-applied thermal goop on the Arctic Cooling products is MX-1, it's better than the AS products so leave it on there. I was shocked that a pre-applied paste could beat a seperate retail product, but it does... which is nice for once!
well heres a linky to the stuff, that does indeed confirm its wht AC use on there HS+F's. gonna hunt down a benchie http://westavon-systems.co.uk/pd_arctic_cooling_mx1.cfm
