It's a race to see who can do the most for you!

PS I might have spoken too soon about the best 24" monitor. It's a shame you dont want one - would a 19" widescreen do you, or do you want a 5:4 ratio 17" for example?

I have built a killer £4500 SLI system for a customer recently and he got the 24" Dell. Personally it is mabe too big for my taste, authough i suppose i would get used to it.

Btw on reply to the question on floppy drives i think i do need one yes a) becuase sata drivers are required to be loaded using a floppy unless u hack your installation and b) they can come in handy for sme system level admin tasks when the CD-ROM/HDD is un available.

quietness? mate lol yourself its so loud its silly!

Also dont change the whole spec just beacause its not to others taste, such as the mouse its a personal decision the g7 is just as good as any of the corded mice and its cordless, also the wavemaster is a great case and is verywell made as most coolermaster products and they are becomigna rarity these days.
Where as if you get the akasa your buying something thats functional but ugly as sin, the p180 just about anyone whos come on here asking for a pc spec ends up buying, no problem with that but buy what u want ultimatley, and definatly go with the seasonic as they are great psu

Also y get the 500w FSP and also the wavemaster has poo for cooling capability - its an out of date case. (authough i agree it looks nice)
just saw that, poo cooling capability? omg.

and how can a case design be out of date, its got the same idea as the akasa that every1 on here loves, suck in at the front suck out at the back, annoys me to hear that a case can be out of date, it can house 4 80mm fans mine has never ever overheated. so what does this mean we shoul all go and buy antecs latest p180 just because its "new" hexus actaully wrote a review on the wavemaster see what it says there.

Harry1, i'm not quite sure to whom your comment is directed, but if (as I suspect) you are inferring that the Antec P180 is not quiet, I can only imagine that you either don't know it or have only heard one that was badly set up.
Of course, there is no such thing as a "perfect case" since many of us need cases to do different things and have accordingly different priorities (for example a case destined to go into an isolated server room wouldn't be so important to have good acoustics).
If, however, you want something that cools well, has good expandability/ upgrade capacity, low noise, and is stylish to look at as well as being fairly robust, the P180 hits the mark. I can't comment on the Wavemaster.
I am, however, quite prepared to justify my opinions. To do otherwise, when someone is asking for help to spend towards £2000, is a little unfair in my opinion.

i have heard three differnt p180s and only the one any good had expensive fans with fan controllers.

and regarding the link, you can type any case into google and some1 will have written a good review on it.

i dont doubt that its a good case, but its getting boring seeing people come with a spec and get recomened the same old thing, be it an eclipse or any number of things that seem to be the only way to go according to some

Fair enough, lots of people do indeed recommend this case and it's always good to get different opinions. I agree about the importance of diversity, and all too often people just recommend either what they have, what they like, or regurgitate without thought. It's true that, in this example, I have a P180, but my experience is largely positive (a bit of a pain to build initially) and I also had no reason to believe that it wouldn't be suitable for Drobbins (well, I didn't until he then mentioned about LAN parties).
As for the link though, I'd seriously recommend that you pay some regular visits to SPCR before criticising them. They are very, very good.

hexus gave the wavemaster sometihng high i forget now but, i make my own judgements about that. i agree what your saying i like the p180 but i like the wavemaster, i also like the design of the akasa but its a dog ugly server looking thing.
i do laugh though, all the people that recmoned all this stuff that have never used it. not pointed at anyone in particualr but not
EVERY! on here can have an akasa eclipse

What i mean is that the wavemaster uses 80mm fans which does not cut it for me - especially for £80. It got a great review from hexus when it came out

sigh, everyone is disagreeing with me on the PSU front lol I have been doing some research, and would choose that one (or the 700w or the ocz version) because twice now the same box has had a great write up, here, at hexus.

I've also read that the older FSP PSU's are noisy, its a fault - have a look in the FSP forum, and their response to the comments folks have made - thats not bad service either. That also goes quite a way when choosing a PSU.

As it stand i'm not in the market for a PSU, but nearly was - I decided against a second water loop, so my pcp&c fits, for the time being

reason for choosing a 6300 over a 6600? in the only direct comparison i've read, the 6300 was able to clock higher than the 6600, (just) and the 4mb cahce only gives around 1.5% performance increase in games. Downside is, you loose a lot of flexibility when choosing ram.

Am curious Nox, I have no issue at all with FSP and moreover have every reason to agree with you that they are good.
What specifically though makes you think that 500W isn't enough?
