    Monitor Switch

Not sure if its the right forum so mods feel free to move

Just wondering, do any of you know of a device that allows you to use one monitor for two pcs?

Ie, if you only want to access one occasionally as you only use it for data storage/cd burning, having a 2nd monitor would take up a lot of space.

Same for keyboard / mouse switching.

    Cheers

you need a KVM switch. (KVM = keyboard, video, mouse)

These are rather expensive but do the job very well. Beware that most KVM switches use PS2 mice/keyboards.

I bought a monitor switch at the computer fair which only switches the monitor for around £15 including cables. The advantage/disadvantage of this means you have to ave an extra keyboard/mouse on your desk.

You could always use remote desktop if you are only using the PC for data storage etc.
