VT on the new intel chips

± Intel® Virtualization Technology requires a computer system with an enabled Intel® processor, BIOS, virtual machine monitor (VMM) and for some uses, certain platform software enabled for it. Functionality, performance or other benefits will vary depending on hardware and software configurations. Intel Virtualization Technology-enabled BIOS and VMM applications are currently in development.

So I presume having VT on the CPU is to make it faster, has anyone actually tested to see what improvements there are in running VMWare with and with out? Just curious, and I've just bought a E6400.

I have a PD920 and VT makes no difference in performance.

From what I heard VMWare's VT support is still pretty buggy / low performance and you'll be better off using the non-VT version of VMWare.

Tried it last night with VMWare 5.5.2 and an E6600/P5B (BIOS still calls in Vanderpool tech, not Virtualisation Tech)

Tried the JAS OSX86 10.4.6 and it crashed booting the install disk (from an ISO) no matter the settings....

The same image worked great in a VMWare machine on my old Operton
