Just About to Order a New Laptop...

    Hey Guys,
I hope to order this laptop today (so it has to be by 4pm):

    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/nbrange.html?ORD

It will likely be the one on the right, with the 2gb of RAM and 4mb cache processor. I have chosen this one specifically due to it having the Core 2 processor I'd like, which unfortunately seems to have penetrated the market very little at this point in time. Acer appear to be releasing a Core 2 laptop with a nice specification, but as of yet, there is no imminent release date.

My question therefore is: Does anyone know of a laptop with a Core 2 processor, which has a specification near to the one I have listed above. One thing that is bound to sway me away from it is the WXGA resolution, so I'd probably sacrifice some of the features for a higher resolution if you do find another laptop of comparable price.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Also, I've come across the Fujitsu-Siemens 1547, which looks well specified for the price one site gave it of just above £1000. Unfortunately, this too hasn't got a launch date.

i must say my experience with fujitsu isnt the best, during my 2 years warranty they changed my mobo, dvd burner, display and keyboard i didnt pay nothing to fix it but it was still a big pain.

Finally 2 weeks after the warranty expired the new mobo also burned, it was the last time i saw that pc boot.

Not sure what is the general opinion about fujitsu siemens but i recommend any possible buyers to check their support forum before they buy.

My mate has one of these and its pretty dang snazzy, as far as I know he hasn't had any issues and the screen is superb.
