    Monitor turning off

Recently my monitor has been switching off while im using my computer. This first happened when playing oblivion but it did it a couple more times when I just had internet explorer open.

By switching off I mean it lost the graphics output, you could tell the computer was still active I just couldnt see what I was doing.

This seems to point to a graphics card problem, but I checked the temps and they were at ~60 which is perfectly fine. My card is a 7900GX2 (the long one).

    Anyone have any idea?

Have you checked ACPI? If you're doing stuff it shouldn't be switching off, but it wouldn't be the first time I've seen it happen.

No its a crappy old 17inch CRT. Coincidentally Im getting a viewsonic 2025 delivered today! I dont think its the monitor though.

The only way I can get it to turn back on is resetting my PC. Its like the graphics card suddently stops outputting the graphics.
