    Dual Monitors

    Hi,

I dunno if this is the right place to post ... apologies if it isn't!

We had been using a laptop, set up with dual monitor on display options, to run powerpoint programmes to two projectors. The projectors plugged into a video splitter.

Now we've bought a new desktop computer, with an Intel Pentium D Processor 820 2.8GHZ, NVIDIA GeForce 7300SE graphics card.

Now however I simply can't get anything like dual monitors running!

The display no longer gives any option to use dual monitors, however the card claims it supports multi monitors ... any ideas??

Hey Clunk, I tried putting one of the leads from one fo the projectors into the back of the desktop. It'll work in the bottom VGA slot, but not in the second VGA slot, about half way up the back of the desktop.

I'm just totally stuck as to how I could have the ppt presenters view on the monitor and the presentation up on the screens!

Does the GeForce 7300SE support dual monitors okay? It seems stange that the second VGA slot does zippy ... no output from it at all, or so it seems anyway!

    Cheers for help!

If the graphics card has two outputs it can support it.

Right click desktop > properties > settings

    You should have this...

The second screen should be greyed out, if there is nothing try clicking 'Advanced' and then 'Nvidia Control Pannel' (something close to that anyways) and there should be a drop down box in one of the settings areas.

If not, update your drivers as I know that it is there and my 6200 was a lesser card than a 7300.

On the back of the video card, how many (and what type) of outputs does it have? If only one hdmi you may need to use a splitter cable.

I had the same issue with my dual monitor setup on my desktop. I had to get an adaptor to make both monitors VGA (wish I had dual DVI) .. and everything works great now.
