Im in a bit of a hard decision, im getting a new rig, but i want too overclock the one i have at the moment...but im new to o/c'ing.
Thus, i turn to you for help. Please would you give me some advice on the overclocking potential of my rig.(And how too do it step by step )
Here are the specs:
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-8IK1100 (Rev 2.x)
Cpu:Intel Pentium 4 2.00ghz
Cpu cooler: Gigabyte 3d Rocket.GH-PCU23-VH
Ram: 2x 256 266mhz, 1x 512mb 266mhz ddr + 3x xcilo heatsink/spreaders(I cannot tell you the make of the ram, as i cant see the information on them anymore =). Theyre 3 different makes. One being a samsung, thats all i can remember, sorry.)
Gpu:Siluro FX5600 DT 128MB
I know its not the best rig ever, but its all i have untill i purchase a new one.
Also, i am going to be purchasing a gaming rig to build myself, and i dont want too spend £1000 on something that will only perform its best when it is used as a giant paperweight.
Would you be able to tell me if there is going to be any compatability issues in my new pc that i am going to buy.Im not sure if the psu will support core 2 duo, if the motherboard will support the ram, if the cpu cooler is good for the rig, if the case + cooling will be sufficient. I would also like too overclock this too 3ghz if possable. =)
Also if there are any pro's + Cons', Up's 'n' Down's with this setup.
Or if there is anything better i can create for £950.
