Which OC class sckt 939 cooler would draw air form northbridge?

Im about to buy a new cooler for my athlon 64 X2 3800+ becuase my current one is sooo big and becuase of the direction it is on my motherboard (its pointing airflow up instead of out of back fan, its blocking my northbridge from getting any air or being cooled!
    cooler and mobo

Im almost set on the zalman cnps 9500 led because not only in all the reviews ive seen it performs outstandingly, but it can also be installed in either direction eg heatpipes to left and right or heatpipes to top and bottom.

Any suggestions (please have the option to be decently quiet eg. 40db max) greatly appreciated.

that zalman you suggested will be ideal. have you also considered a thermalright Sl-120 ?

That does appear an equally good choice would you know of any review that have temperatures with that in use? (im not completely lazy i just have coursework to do at the moment, i will look afterwards too though). Also would you know any stores that sell it (same as above brackets really).

    Thanks for the reply

cant find any good reviews (odd) and no where that sell them, maybe try a gigabyte g power pro, it has a 92 mm adjustable fan and uses the same heat sink as the SL_120 basically

After great consideration (and finishing my coursework) and finding that overclockersuk sell them i deicded that i am going to buy the zalman. Mainly because i dont want another REALLY tall cooler as it effects the airflow as it enters the case.

    But thanks again anyway.

Yeah, seems like a good cooler, I'm also after it.(I'm going for nickel plated one though) BTW, any particular reason why you don't get it off scan? They have one in stock,
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=256319
and it's cheaper there. On top of that you have 90 posts so I 'm sure you're entitled for free delivery?

Yer i was planning to buy form there jsut have to wait for some money. When it goes through ill get two weeks worth of EMA thats £60 on top of the £27 i already have!

@Pie_UK: I like the green light of the am2 version but since its plated in another metal (on top of the brilliant copper) should that almost insulate it? Just curious because i looked last night and could find no useful performance comparisons with the CNPS9500AM2 in. They were all comparing to the wrong things and usually on low spec systems.

I have the nickel plated AM2 version on my 4600+. Great temps and the lapping is amazing, so i doubt it has any affect on temps.

After a bit of dual prime. In place FFT's (the hottest, just let it finish one set not going to get much hotter after that). It was at 46c. Idles about 33-35c(little hotter if you let the fan slow down to minimum). Only ever seen it break 50c when I put silly volts through the CPU.

Thats at 2.7ghz, 1.35v. This fan really benefits having a decent exhaust fan in the back of your case btw.
