    Audio Leads

my current rig only has one set of audio jacks on the mb and none on the case, now i'm finding it a pain to keep switching between my speakes and headphones.

question is......is there such a thing audio extention cable or somethig ie. have that plugged in the back of the comp and the jacks out front so it's easier to switch from speakers to 'phones and vice versa?

i think you just feed the leads out the back of your case and then have front sockets for everything.

    Alternatively there is this:

You can run a splitter, but I haven't found one that doesn't degrade audio quality.

Does your PC have 5.1 channel sound? If so you may be able to set the rear channels to mimic the front, and then you can just plug the speakers into the set for the rear speakers, headphones into the ones for the front

I use the "HEADPHONE 1/8 W. SWITCH 3' - panel F to MF" from FrontX

I drilled a hole into a spare 3.5" bay front plate and attached this as they recommend. This has given me a front headphone socket, and it looks very neat.

Plug in the 'phones and the speakers turn off - it works perfectly well for my needs...
