Help: New CPU Cooler + case

Hi, I just recently upgraded my Mobo+Cpu+Ram+PSU+GPU. My specs are:

CPU:Intel Pentium D 805 2.66 GHz
I left it at stock speed and temp Idle at 49 ºC. the stock cooler is so loud when playing games, I have decided to change the cooler. Could anyone recommend a rather good, affordable silent cooler, budget £35 (max). I initially thought of the folowing:

Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower Cooler (Socket 478, LGA775, 754, 939 and 940) £33.48 Inc VAT.
Is this one silent? What else would I need to install the cooler, I know I need thermal paste, nething else? The stock cooler came wive a thermal pad.

I havent changed much in the bios except for the usual time/date, I left the RAM settings on auto. When i use CPU-Z to view the current settings the RAM Is running at 266MHz giving it a 4-4-4-12 latency. Why is it running at 266MHz when it is clearly rated at 333MHz at 5-5-5-15-2T?

PSU: 480W XCLIO SCF/aPFC/PCIE PSU
One last thing, i used my old case but it is now really crowded due to the new PSU, could neone recommend a nice silent case for roughly less than £40. any aditional case fans are welcome i.e 120mm or 80mm fans.

The CNPS9500 is quiet and should rein in your temps. You might want to consider something like a Scythe Ninja too. Very good cooling and quiet too.

another vote for the Centurion RC-532 its great for low temps (its just like a smaller cm stacker)!

and like chuckskull says the scythe ninja is meant to be one of the best coolers around at the moment (if you can fit it in your prefered case)

The Antec SLK3000B is a cracking case for the money. The newer 4400 & Solo cases look pretty good too, but are a tad more expensive.

I second the Ninja, but they are getting hard to come by on account of the new one that's just been launched (name escapes me, but it looks very much like the Ninja)

I have the CNPS9500-AT and it appears to be a lot crappier than the LED version (feels like the AT's clip is not as tight as the LED's one) and I still get 50'C load with my PD920 at stock clock although it is indeed pretty quiet. When I get it overclocked to 4Ghz the fan have to go at 100% to keep under 70'C.

From what I've heard, the Scythe Ninja is a rather huge cooler. I wouldnt mind getting it unless i know the it will fit in the new case. Does neone have any suggestions for a possible candidate.

Yeah you'll need a big case for the Scythe. For the cooling it gives the Zalman is quite small.

The Centurion case looks a good choice although it does look ugly in the picture. Has anyone got one/ seen one?

I'm very pleased with my Jeantech Phong II case (CustomPC approved! - http://www.custompc.co.uk/custompc/r...-phong-ii.html) coupled with a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7.

My system is quiet and cool, CPU (Core2Duo E6300) ~25degC, case ~30degC.

bump! Bit of a thread hijack, this is pretty much the last component I need to decide on - I have quiet kit throughout the rest of a build, I want a high end core 2 duo cooler that'll also allow me room for a bit of overclocking.

Thoughts? Freezer 7 Pro with a Zalman fanmate? Scythe such and such? Akasa EVO 120 (would fit with the eclipse I'm buying...)
