I had a BlueTake v1 card a few years back, it only had PocketPC drivers at the time, but eh new ones have wirk in Windows too.
One word. Nokia. For a while, Nokia sold their own Bluetooth adapters, and would not certify their phones as working with ANYONE else's BT stack. They spun off the Nokia branded BT card business to Socket, and for ages their phones (especially the basic business phones) STILL wouldn't work with anyone else's BT cards/dongles (as anyone who tried to get a 6310 to work with anything else, like the onboard BT in a Dell Latitude would tell you). Later firmware upgrades to the phones allowed a broader range of compatibility, but a phone with older firmware must either be upgraded or use a Socket card to have a hope of working properly.Quote:

I have tried cheap usb dongles using just the windows software and theyre fine, same for a Sitecom PCMCIA thing.
What i like about the Socket one is it fits plush in the PCMCIA slot, leaving nothing sticking out.
I even like the software, its just its unstable with the k800 :/

You didn't say it was just with one device you were having problems :)
Could eqally be sorted on later K800 firmware. Might be worth giving both SE and socket an email
