    1TB Cheap?

Its my birthday soon and hopefully I should get some money, might as well plan ahead, I've been putting off getting my gfx but I think i'm gonna get it soon .

I have had my computer for maybe 3 months now and I've managed to almost fill my hard drive (with mp3 and wma). But my ears cannot stand to hear another mp3, so I have decided to start using FLAC.

The problem is FLAC takes up alot of space and I have alot of music. I estimated that if I ripped/recorded my entire collection it would take up almost 1TB (I think). Can anyone tell me the cheapest way get get a terrorbite? Bearing in mind that I only have 4 SATA sockets.

    Thanks for any help

Edit: I might need a new power supply too.
    With love and many thanks,

Dude, that is loads! How much space does it take up as mp3 and what bitrate?

Anyway, have you got IDE slots? Im just thinking about optical drives, like my mobo has 9 sata slots (why, I dont know lol) but only one PATA so I'm waiting for more optical drives to come out as SATA, my point is, if you use up the 4 SATA there won't be room for such upgrades.
So you could get two 400GB (quite cheap), two 500GB quite cheap or even two 750GB or mix them up.

    take a look here

plus, I don't know if your gonna want to RAID them.

get a dedicated raid card if u r, its expensive, but remember that RAID is constantly using processor iterations rather than offloading to a dedicated micro-processor

I use about 80gb on music and the other 80 is programs and video. Its at 128/256 (i think) (theres like 4 or 5 weeks of music last time I checked, but that was a while ago so I dont actually know how much I have). If I can aford it I wouldn't mind putting a couple of small ones in raid and dazling everyone with my load times

4 of http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=253982 will get you a TB for £200. Might be worth investing in a sound card too.

You'll probably get a better result by spending the £200 on some decent speakers.

lol. I have 4 LEAK speakers that have gotta be worth at least £1000 a pair. They're pretty old but they sound better than anything else I've heard.

LEAK stopped trading in the late 70's, so yeah, pretty old . Not sure about £1000 a pair, depends on the model and condition.

If they haven't been refurbed you might want to consider getting someone to take a look at the drivers. Speakers can deteriorate over time, particularly the spiders and foam surrounds, which can rot.

There mint. One pair are LEAK 3090s and the other pair are LEAK 2075s. They're big as hell (almost as tall as me).

How many albums do you have? I've got over 900 and they anly take up 338gig when recorded as FLAC.
