Which AMD Shuttles have optical out on the back? As for a HTPC it's not ideal to have a cable coming out of the front to connect to an amp...

The SN41G2 is on the front isn't it? Is it possible to EASILY mod it to come out the back? or am i just stuck with it?

i would guess its not easy to mod. you could upgrade to a soundblaster external usb card (such as the extigy or their other usb one) which would give you optical i/o and you could hide it out the way

The SN45G has optical in and out on the back panel......don't know which others do.

Yes I think he knows this. The question is which shuttles have the optical out on the back, well on my sn41g2 I'm pretty sure the one on the back is optical in, and optical out is on the front which makes no sense what so ever. You can buy an SPDIF daughter bord for shuttles. Not sure if this goes in a PCI slot or in the press outs at the of the case.
