My Abit NF7-S v2.0 nForce2 board arrived yesterday. Really looks the part. Nice box, good instructions, and loads of software. Its a really well laid out board. There's even a space inbetween the agp slot and the first pci slot to accomadate the new graphics cards that require planning permission just to get in your case. Just putting out a thanks to the people who advised me to buy it. Can't wait for my cpu to come tomo.
That gap between the PCI and AGP slot - presumably you could have had another PCI slot there that might be usable depending on your graphics card, rather than just "space."
Still, it might be a chipset limitation to the number of PCI slots, and who needs that many anyway (except me and my array of SCSI stuff, lol.)
Anyway, I've heard good things about that board. Do enjoy it!
I thought this board was quite poorly laid out when I used one in a system build for a friend. Still a top MB though.
I have one and really like it.

trash man, WHAT is wrong with the layout? only things i can see as bad are the positions of the ovltage regulators but that doesnt matter much.
Pretty much everything on the board could have been thought about a little. The fact you can't get a HS on or off without either taking out the MB or taking out the PSU. The IDE connectors are in a silly position, right over the top of the memory and it just leaves everything looking very untidy.
I have owned Abit boards in the past and they were all fine. I am not saying there is anything wrong with the board at all, just I was not a great fan of the layout.
NF7 has a poor layout.. one of the worst from Abit

To be honest I am thinking of building a second system with this board (and prob a 2500) cos I've heard really good reports about it, are you thinking/planning on modding it (voltage etc)?

ive had no problem removeing and installing my slk800 without taking it out.. maybe you mean using the 4 bolts to hold on the bolted heatsinks? cos you will have to take every mobo out for that, unlessu cut hole in the mobo tray sop you can get to it easyly with it in there. i done it for cpu and nb :)
ide connectors might have beennicer at the top of the board but it depends where your drives are located, no pros with location of sata :D
