    Hitachi T7K500 320GB 16M Cache, anyone tried?

    I heard on SR it seems to be very good compared to Seagate 7200.10 and Western Digital (and probably all other brands)

    Just to point out Hitachi's reliability had been top notch so please don't mention the Deathstar which is already the past.

    Anyone got this drive would like to comment on noise, performance and heat issue?

    I'm about to buy 4 of these for RAID5 as I just got my brand new 3Ware 9500S-8 today (From Ebay US, at a price cheaper than a Highpoint 8 port card).

    I have used a 160gb version of this drive, used to think it was the bees knees but it seems positively slow compared to a Raptor now.

    i have the older 250GB version of that drive and its served me well, you cant really go wrong with whatever hard drive you buy, WD, seagate , Hitachi, Samsung all good brands.

    My hitachi is pretty quiet (although it is suspended so i cant comment on the real noise) and its not that hot, it says 35C-37C all the time
