    CD drive :(

Today my cd writer drive is now refusing to open and it has one of my fave cds in it . Just wondering how:

    1. to open it to get my beloved cd out
    2. if it can be fixed

    thanks in advance

if its got a small hole in the front, open up a paper clip and push it into the hole and the drive will open...

    To answer 1):

There should be a very small round hole on the front of the drive, push a pin in it and the drive tray should open.

    No idea about 2)

    EDIT: Beaten to it

at less than £20 for a DVD writer I'd say it was time to upgrade - it'll cost you more than that to get the cd writer fixed. Scan has an NEC 5170 drive for £19.39
