    Question silent box Ideas/Parts please...

right has to be cheap.i have a old pioneer case for a cd rack and i want to use that for fun and whatever. anyways i have a xp2100 hanging around and i have 512mb 3200 ram i could nick from my 1.5gb of my 754 rig... so what i need is a nice and SMALL micro-atx? motherboard with onboard vga/sound/lan.i want onboard vga because 1 its cheaper 2 i only have a geforce4 mx card lying around 3 it would be way to high to fit any cards in the case. it will be used for downloads silently so PASSIVE cooling would be NICE. plus the height of the case is.... about 3/4inches IF that high... so what cooler and what mobo and can i use my xbox 1.6 powersupply or attach a convertor or can i use a shuttle powersupply as their small and where would i get one.also if anyone wants to sell me one cheap (psu/mobo/cooler) then go ahead.what kind of price range am i talking here and any model/makes to go for and UK links to get them.ebay would be best if pos second hand is perfect. can i cool it passively otherwise what QUIET fans can i use.and is there a slim HS that would fit on the socket a xp2100 with a nice cfm but slow 120mm to keep it as cool as a thick HS? IF i cant do it passive?
cheers sorry for jumbled post but i got to rush out lol and wanted some suggestions.

Good riddance. Wish I'd done it about a year ago.

Wow, that was hard work. May I just suggest separating ideas into paragraphs, it helps the readability and may make people more inclined to help.

Processor choice - whilst certainly better than choosing a P4 Northwood, its still going to generate a bit of heat. Therefore completely passive cooling is probably not an option. Something like one of the Zalman coolers would probably be suitable though. Something like the CNPS6000-Cu would probably be fine.

Motherboard - Something like this would be suitable, and fairly cheap new.

Power Supply - Pico PSU and A shuttle external PSU? I think that would work anyhow.

Quiet Fans - Noni Posted a link to some fans well recommended by SPCR, sold on ebay by Silencio. However, any fan can be silenced by voltmodding it, or placing it on a fan controller

Hope this points you in the right direction,

    Dave

I wouldn't say an external PSU is dangerous - my laptops been on for the last 45+ hours and the PSU brick isnt that warm to the touch.

is there any others maybe with an geforce card integrated pos? because I'll be using Ubuntu and wouldnt mind minor gaming like cs1.6 or something so nvidia actually work driver wise on linux without slowdown lol. and what is uATX i thought it was micro/mini atx? and surely you cant leave your lappy on much longer with one of those bricks and what about the connector to it if i was to use one what would i have to wire in?

I'm not sure if it'd fit, but a Scythe Ninja heatsink would do a good job on that 2100+ with no fan.
