Free mousemat from freshers' fair 4 years ago advertising a company i'm pretty sure has gone the way of the dodo. Definitely doesn't do my mx1000 justice. I'm tempted by an icemat but i heard you have to clean them very regularly, is this a big problem?

So today I went to the "egg" and bought the razer pro( white) gaming mousepad,,
Needless to say, I very excited.

What are you using, and do you like it or would you recommend it for purchase again?

    Everglide mousemats are very good.

I wipe mine about once every couple of weeks at most - its really not that much of a problem I'm using it with an mx1000 aswell, no problems so far

My old mat was an Icemat v2, the little pads to go on the mouse would wear through in no time and the surface of the mat soon wore off. Coupled with the fact my hand was often freezing from the glass taking all the heat away, I stopped using that . Just purchased a Razer Mantis Control mat, hopefully get a nicer feel with that .

    mousemat ... whats 1 of those ?

I use the worksurface from one of my old kitchen worktops with my mouse and find a polish once a week keeps it gliding nice and smoothly.

I feel so cheap - I still have five of the original [H] branded ratpadz I bought waaaay back in the day. Every year or so I wear one out, turn it over and use the other side before reluctantly consigning it to the bin. In the old days they built 'em to laaaaast son...

Mousemat.... do people still use them
Not used a mouse mat since I got a optical mouse about 6 years ago. Never really thought about getting one. Do they provide better performance?

    It's a hell of a lot smoother.

depends on the mouse mat really. on ball mice you want one the ball can grip well to but still move around rapidly and smoothly (I use a piece of paper at work for a mousemat with a ball mouse)

for optical u want a smooth gliding surface but 1 designed 4 optical as the way they work is taking pictures of the surface below them then when it moves taking another pic to see how far it has moved.

on another note my colleague noticed ydat that i rest my wrist on the table and just move my hand left and right whereas he doesnt(claims it will give you rsi)

how do other hexus members use their mouse.

Black IceMat here.. The smaller one, due to space restrictions.. lol I use it with my Logitech MX518.

Given a wipe with a damp cloth a couple times a month, and a set of new teflon stickies on the mousie once in a while, it's silky smooth to use.. or should that be 'icy' smooth..

I use a cloth faced Jeff Gordon rubbery mat. I had to replace my Hooters one since the print was wearing out of the nice young lady on it.
