Something could have got underneath, and it's physically blocking it. Like a crumb.

Does it work before you boot your operating system? Try it in the BIOS (if that key is actually supported and useful in the BIOS), or DOS or something else. Try to narrow down whether it's Windows-related.

i suspected it b4, so what i did is take it off carefully and try to check whether there is something blocking the key. but still it does'nt work. sometimes it does function, but after two to three stroke, the character won't appear again.

thanks for attending to my problem dancingmatt hope you can still help me.

Sometimes some of the keys on my keyboard dont work either. Usually the top line from Q to Y. The solution I found was to hit it really hard. Works a charm =)

try changing your keyboard layout to another countries', or UK if you by some chance haven't.

    exactly my thought....

Start Button (bottom left of desktop)
    Control Panel
Date Time Language & Regional Options
Regional and Language Options (globe symbol)

First thing to check is the Regional Tab (the first one to pop up), then click the Languages Tab along the top, then the Details Button and make sure it's set to English Keyboard, not USA keyboard.

OK out of all the changes you make, and then reboot.
