    Old hard drive

    Just a quick question..........

I've just found a HDD from my old 486 system, does anyone remember pentium 166mmx's???? Anyway I think its 540mb. Is it worth keeping or should it be put to rest and burried?

    Thx Smirnoff

lol, well i can't think of a good reason for it, other than a door stop.
You can pick up 20Gb drives for less than a tenner on ebay (Buy It Now) these days.

Get the magnets out - they're great.

It'll take a fair effort (a bit of brute force and prising apart) but it's worth it for the powerful magnets. Just keep them away from your colour CRT...

Try and do a window mod on it, and plug it back in (somewhere) and watch the inwards I plan to do that on one of my old ones, but need one of those star shaped screwdrivers

Well I keep old FDDs because occasionally they come in handy (and 2 is OK coz you might find one doesn't work when you try it!). Keep the newest CD(s) in case your existing packs up. But 99.9% probability you'll never use them again.

Last year I had a clear out of everything pre-2000 in the garage and I had to take a trip to the dump.
