    Keyboard & Mouse problem!

    Hi

I've got a Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 2.1.

The keyboard and mouse work fine independantly. However, when used at the same time, the keyboard fails to respond.

For instance, I'm playing Half Life 2. I hold down 'W' to move forwards. This is fine. However, if I continue to hold down 'W' and then move the mouse to look around, the keyboard stops responding and I stop moving forwards.

Has anyone else heard of this problem, or is it faulty hardware do you think?

Driving me nuts, would appreciate some help!

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers?

Sounds like an odd problem though, it's as if your reciever only accepts one signal at a time from one device.. weird - could be faulty hardware, but i'll have a root on google

Have downloaded the Microsoft keyboard and mouse software for their website. There were no other drivers as far as I know.

Are they both USB devices? If so are they both plugged in next to each other?

They both use the same receiver, which is USB.

Not quite the same model as mine, but it appears to have the same problem. Although nobody on there has realised it is when you move the mouse and use the keyboard at the same time that the problem occurs. It is not actually losing signal, it just can't cope with two signals at once. Which is pretty much useless!!
