    Little help...dilemma

Ok basically with my current setup there is an incompatibility between the ram and the motherboard. I'm not sure what to do really i can sell either part and get a different one - but i'm not sure which one though.

    Current setup

    Mushkin ram...

    Gigabyte DS4 Motherboard

I'm thinking of getting either this...

    or

not really sure what to go for. Leaning towards the motherboard option.

    thanks

So what is the basic problem? Can it be solved with a BIOS update?

the ram isn't compatible with the motherboard. One stick of memory works alright, but occasionally causes bsods. When i put the other stick in with it i get a bsod almost immediately. It is updated to the latest bios.

Could it be a voltage problem? I know that with some DDR2 ram and Core2Duo systems the ram needs a bit more voltage than the standard amount that the BIOS is configured for.

NOTE: Please don't take this to mean that you should just up the ram voltage (I don't want to be responsible for a blown motherboard/ram!) but it might be something to check out on the forums/google before RMAing any items.

The solution typically involves booting with one stick, upping the voltage, power off and then installing the second stick...

There are some known issues with Micron based RAM and some of the Gigabyte 775 boards. Anandtech touched on this recently.
