    proposed specs. all comments welcome

    OK here goes....my proposed specs for new rig

    CASE - Coolermaster Cavalier 3 Black Tower Case w/o PSU
    PSU - 430W Tagan 2Force
    MOBO - ASUS PB5 Deluxe/Wi-Fi-AP
    CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
    FAN - Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
    MEM - 1Gb (2X512Mb) Corsair Value Select, DDR2 PC5300 (667), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-15
    VGA - 256MB XFX 7600GT XT, PCI-E (x16), Mem 1500MHz, GPU 580MHz, 12 Pipes Dual DVI/HDTV
    HDD - 250GB Samsung SP2504C SATA
    FDD - Generic 1.44mb
    OPICAL -1) Samsung Black 16x DVD-ROM + 40x CD-ROM IDE

    The 7600 gt was a good call. With the new graphics technology just a few month's away, it doesn't make much sence to go all out on the 7950 or X1950.After the 2008 games hit the market in the DirectX10 format it will render all current cards outdated. So better to get something that plays your games currently a decent rates and upgrade to the new platform when the time comes. GOOD CALL!

    Don't forget the price of windows, unless you have a full retail copy to use!

    Yes I have a retail copy of win xp pro, plus a 19" Hanns G monitor so thats 2 less things to worry about.
