    0.5 Multiplier...

Using a 8.5x multiplier on my overclock would really help me but I know I'm not supposed to use the 0.5s... but I just can't remember why?

Aye it's the a S939 Opteron... but I'd forgotten about my divider issues so .5 multipliers won't help me anyway.

Hahaha, got it in one man.

Currently using the 10x with a DDR333 divider.

So at 2.7GHz the RAM's at 225MHz and I'm pretty sure it can't go much higher (MemTesting tomorrow) but I just know the Opty has more to give.

just drop the divider to 266 and go higher....the ram speed is not important in comparrison to the clock speed.

I'll say it now: Clock speed is ALL with opterons.

Drop to 266, and get that cpu up. I'll BET it goes faster, than with a tad xtra multiplier and wider badwidth. Cant explain why....it's just that Opterons want CLOCK SPEED!

I'd love to drop to 266 and use the 9x (RAM would be nearer stock) but for some odd reason my motherboard doesn't like it.

All is explained in this thread.

I'll give it a go with with 10x though.

Results: Blue screened, lowered divider to eliminate RAM, overheating siren went off. I think I need to do some more tinkering.
