DDR2 Ram Heatspreaders

I am building a new Core 2 Duo system based around the asrock 775 dual vsta board (graphics card reasons - will change mobo and gpu later on but for now this is the board I am getting)

That being said I am also getting this memory

Again no point spending too much when I will upgrade in 07 when I get a new mobo

That being said I would quite like to add some heat spreaders for practical ( I will be overclocking) and coolness reasons

I quite like these blue ones here

But they dont say they are for DDR2 whereas other heat spreaders do

So my questions are these:

1) Will these fit DDR2 memory?

2) IF not can anyone point me in the direction of a UK site that supplies heat spreaders in funky colours not just copper?

I was always under the impression that heat spreaders on memory were a complete and utter waste of money.

Its more a marketing gimmick for the big names then anything else as they generate virtually zero heat.

Correct - they have no real effect on overclocking ability.

what about ram that uses 2.4v and upwards? they do get hot, maybe some point to it then?

if you pump the volts they do get hot, no doubt about it, hence why the corsair dominiatorhas the heatspederd as it needs high volts..

Even on hot DDR sticks at 2.9 or even 3+v heatspreaders don't make a real difference.

I havent seen any ddr2 at 2.9v or 3.0+...does ddr2 get hotter than ddr at the same voltage? (heatspreader aside)

The one thing that heatspreaders do is keep dust off the chips. Dust can cause static electricity to build up, and they're buggers to clean.

As far as heat is concerned, I remember reading a test and they found that HS actually increased the temperature.
