Good riddance. Wish I'd done it about a year ago.

If you haven't got much ram then i'd certainly go for the discrete option as the onboard will yoink 64mb of your system ram.

Not sure how performance compares but i've had less stability issues with nvidia drivers in the past too, admittedly it's been a while so times may have changed.

Go with the discrete it will save CPU cycles and memory, though if it is noisy the preformance hit would be minimal with the integrated. The short of it is you will not get good preformace either way, so stick with 2D stuff.

awm thats rubbish i've overclocked the geforce 200mhz on both ram and clocks before and ran hl2 on a 1ghz tbird with 256mb ram and then 512sdram with full 640x480 settings... i'd say thats not bad considering the hardware!i think i'll save some heat and run the onboard but i dont know because i could run fan full pelt on cpu and then louder but have more headroom for the card.its only a download/media box but want to play 1.6 and abit of css on low settings mucking around as hl2 ran...

Maybe I should qualify my comment about not getting good preformance. I was refering to preformance relative to what is out today. While you could run older games on it without problems, newer games might warrent buying a used AGP card cheeply to upgrade if you want to put serious time playing games. You could always run benchmarks to decide what works best.

I would go for the MX440, unless it has a fan and you are trying to keep the noise down.

If it is a media box, you might find the mpeg accelleration is better supported on the Nvidia.

I played right through HL2 on a 32MB Geforce2-MX (though the rooftop part was pretty tough as the frame rate did drop there). Was amazed at just how playable it was. No doubt someone will now pop up saying they played it on a ZX spectrum
