Lappy dvd drives? can i use any with an adapter?

got an apdater with my hiper media case and im thinking about getting one... so can i just use any lappy drive and then use the connector and plug it in and bang in win/lin its working like a normal drive?

All modern laptop drives use the same connector afaik so yes

Should work fine. Any slimline drive you get that isn't an official spare part for a laptop vendor (eg. sony, HP, toshiba, etc) will be a standar shape and size with the slimline IDE connector.

Some laptops do have ultra slimline or custom fit drives that you probably won't be able to use, but they are easily avoided.
