    G15

The man from scan, dropped me off one of these lovely keyboards earlier pretty impressed. The buttons on the left seem to throw off my typing though.

Anyway anyone else got one, and what're your favourite LCD panel applets. not really found any decent ones myself. Using the Foobar one right now.

MBM2G15 if you have Motherboard Monitor 5 running is great.

I always used the Ctrl key as my refernce point on a keyboard and having the extra keys on the end of the G15 made it really difficult at first but you soon get used to it.

Thats the old set-up I had before switching to Dual core, now got both core loads on there and dropped the CPU volatge, will hopefully get a picture up sometime soon.

Let us know how things go with it and dont forget to check out the various sites dedicated to the keyboard for some cool applets.

The BF2 applet works a charm Thats the main game i play online. Cheers for that one, couldn't find one that wasn't atrocious myself.

The ctrl has always been my point of reference too, so the G keys are whats throwing me. I should really learn to touch type properly (you think i would of learned after 10+ years).

So far i'm a big fan, going to have a play with some of the system monitoring applets tomorrow. Messed with a few earlier couldn't get anything i liked going.

yer i use the g keys for shortcuts to things very easy, i play css online and with one press of a button (money permitting i can choose from 8 of my favourite setups, and even buy individually via the macro keys, certainly speeds up my buying, as im not leet enough to use the numbers. i use a counter strike applet and the speedfan one sometimes. nice board though you think??

Something got shorted out, nice burn mark just above the northbridge. It's just about working after a few hours of fiddling. Deciding whether to bother replacing it and finding out whats broke.

Or to sell it all and go conroe!

On a more serious note, do you use MBM5 to check temps, if not what are you using and have you got any idea how to get it working with the LCD?

Cheers for the offer, but I think they'd refuse it. Northbridge heatsink has been chaged about 5times, dont even have the push-pins for the original. Something(quite possibly a finger or the clips for the heatsink) has shorted something out just above the northbridge, leaving a chunky burn mark too. Oddly enough it only booted again after i'd had the whole thing out and swapped the heatsink.

Taken out a SATA port, the cable in the port, a PCI slot, PCI-e slot and the Yukon ethernet controller. Everything else seems to be working more or less. Couple of 939 boards going cheap in the FS forum probably just grab one of those or try and get this one to limp the last few monthsbefore it's time for a conroe build.

Very nice keyboard. Had mine about 10 months now. Don't really use many external applets beyond the defaults. The profiles for each game are very useful however and are useful for windows shortcuts as well. When I was writing my dissertation I had one rigged up to write out the name of the bacteria I was focusing on, properly italicised and everything!

UT2k4 has support as well which is pretty nice, as well as a few others (Prey and Civ4 spring to mind, rest can be found here)
