    Question KVM Switch

I'm not sure if this is the right place or not. If it isn't could a mod move it?

Anyways. At the moment I am feeling very stupid and confused. This is the first time I've dived into the world of KVM switches.

I have just bought a linsys 4 station KVM switch (model: sview04) and I also bought 4 "kvm 3 in 1" cable kits which appear to have the same spec as the original Linksys brand cable (according to Dabs.com)

The problem I have it the cable kits have a male to male VGA connection but so does the switch??!! So there is no way i can plug them into the switch!

If i had gone for the Linksys branded cables (very expensive imo), would they have had one male and one female vga connection (is dabs wrong) Whats the norm for KVM switches in general?

Would it be alright if i just bought a 15 way gender changer?

    Thanks dudes/dudettes

Assuming the KB and mouse connectors are OK, I see no reason why using HD15F - HD15F gender changers wouldn't work for4 the VGA, as per http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/hard...?quicklinx=D0V

Dabs aren't wrong, since socket types on KVMs could be M or F, but maybe they should provide more details on what the connector types are.

Depends on the type you buy - they should always specify.
I've been caught by that one more than once - even within the same brand!
Occasionally they'll do fun things, where double tapping the caps button shifts the viewed machine to the right, and double clicking shift, goes to the left.
Makes late night office UT a bit of a nightmare!
