Sorry for my ignorance, but I keep hearing two words and don't really know what they refer to.
One is the word "shuttle" and the other is "barebones"
What are these things and where do these names derive from?
cheers

Shuttle are manufactures of one of the first commercially available small form factor systems.
These are supplied as a barebones system ( this is just case psu and motherboard , you have to add your own CPU, Hard Drive Memory and Optical drive to make it run )

thanks again, Moby
Just out of interest: has the word "Shuttle" become synonymous with small form factor systems ( like the word "Hoover" for vacuum cleaners) or is there another generic name? (Or maybe it's just 'small form factor'?)

its not far off becoming a generic term for a small , toaster sized SFF system - they have had a 2 year headstart on the competition.
