PSU advice

Probably a tall order but can anyone recomend a good, cheap high efficiency silent PSU?

High Efficiency = Seasonic

Any of their low (<400) wattage PSUs are quiet as well. In saying that the high wattage ones while also very energy efficient are also reasonable silent.

Cheap as poss, 300 watt should do as all its powering is a mobo, Celeron D and a hard drive.

FSB=Good, Seasonic=VeryGood

FSB is a good choice, good, effuicient performance and good support. Not exactly 'budget', but cheaper than Seasonic, and you don't get efficient reliable and quality PSU for cheap.

PSU is a VERY important system component, it deserved to ge a good 'un.

Yea I know , to me the FSP looks the best bet for my Budget , using there 700Watt model atm in my SLI rig and it does the job nicly.

Tagan is also worth a look......as are the Antec's.......but yes, if your budget can cover it, a Seasonic is your best option.....

I recommend the above as the 400watt got an award in Custom PC Group Test. Also just built a PC with the 350 and it's powering

He can get the Seasonic from Scan for the same price, actually cheaper as he won't have to pay delivery.

I thought that their 430w model was quieter than the 330 & 380w models as they have slightly larger heatsinks. Not that they are bad but I believe the 430W model is the best option in terms of price/performance/silence. It's just a shame that Scan don't have any in stock at the moment (or when I placed my order )
