    Gaming keyboards/mice

I've been thinking of treating myslef to a new keyboard, but I'm wondering whether it is worth spending £50+ on a Logitech G15 or whether it is really worth it. Does anyone have any experiences with this keyboard, and if so what do you think of it? The other one I'm looking at is the Saitek Eclipse II, which is around £30.

As for mice, I'd quite like either a Razer Copperhead or a Logitech G5. Again, does anyone have experience with these mice? What do you think of them if you have had experience?

    Thanks in advance.

I used the G5, it's fantastic. Really like the weight control bit and it's very sensitive too I found playing without any weight then put the whole pack on when go into sniping mode in BF2 helps Also used the Eclipse, but the original one, great keyboard, but the light are pretty dim so useless in the dark really. I wud go for the saitek II anyday, cant justify £50 for a keyboard.

i was in a similar situation a month or 2 ago, and decidied to treat myself, and got a G-15, and G7, must say if the G5 is anything like the G7 you'd be onto a winner there, i absolutly love my G7. now onto the G-15 its an uber good keyboard but the novelty of the screen wears off, i hardly ever use it, my advice wait a bit for the G3? i think it is, it is just a G15 but without the screen!

G3 is the low-down version of the G5 m8. I still prefer the G5 to the G7 though, love the weight but that just me lol

To be honest, I expect that the screen is the only reason why I wanted the G15. I rarely use shortcuts in games so I doubt I'd use the G keys that much.

It's nice to see the views on the G5, sounds like a very nice thing, and also looks nice and comfy. Anyone got some views on the Copperhead, or is that pretty much a no go? The only thing that would put me off would be the fact that it is ambidextrous, meaning that it is unlikely to fit the hand as well as the G5, but it looks so nice.

I would recommend logitech G7. It is wireless too, a luxury bonus and performs as well as a razer copperhead. For keyboard i suggest the razer tarantula. But I think the price is a little over the top.

Another vote for G5, utterly awesome. I'd also steer clear of the G15, as cool as it is, you'd get a better experience getting a keyboard thats nice to type with and a zBoard Fang.

I'm very happy with my Saitek Eclipse 2 and my Logitech MX-518 (on an icemat).

And yet another vote for the G5, its truly a wkd mouse! and the addition of the weight cartridge is a good touch, but once u've got a weight u like i doubt u'll ever change it again, I haven't Also u can change ur sensitivity on the fly whihc is superb, its completely adjustable in this respect too with the software installed. Its a high recommendation from me 1 thing i will say, I bought an Icemat to use with it an they just didn't agree at all, never got the 2 to work together probably me being a n00b

And as for keyboard I am using the saitek 1, It has a really nice feel to it an I don't think i'll be replacing it til it breaks nothing too fancy (apart from the blue lights) and does exactly what i need from a keyboard (as i don't use shortcuts or hotkeys anyway).

Abeacock, how is the saitek eclipse 2. Haven't seen many reviews on it. But I am really fascinated by the colour changing.

rob_z3_man, I really like it - I was initially put off by rumours of certain keys not working when pressed together (like when you play games). I've not had any problems with it and I really like the key action and purple backlight is be coolest.

There is more discussion about it here (plus some badly taken pictures by yours truely!):
    http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=87633

I bought it from MicroDirect for about £30.
Let me know if there is anything else you want to know about it.

Well, I think I've made my choice. I can't really justify spending £50 on keyboard with features that I won't use/aren't supported. I'll go for the Saitek Eclipse II and a Logitech G5 I think. Thanks for the advice.
