Want to buy a new tower, please help!

Hi guys, it's my brother's birthday and as me and my sister are off at uni he uses the system at home and it's well past it's sell by date, was just hoping you guys could recommend me a good tower only unit for 500-700 quid, got a spare 17" LG TFT so i'll use that, i built mine and my sister's PCs but it's been quite a while so I'm completely amiss when it comes to the new technology.

He'll predominantly use the pc for gaming as well as standard desktop work, he also seems to have a perchant for a bit of the old graphic design (he's only turning 14!). Don't wanna put this system together because being honest I just dont have the time, just no idea who's reputable anymore, mesh? dell? evesham? etc

Anyways hope someone can help, if you're reading this and have no ideas thanks for taking the time out to read it anyway

    Take care guys!

Mesh are generally pretty good in my opinion, a few people in my school have had some good machines from them. As for dell there XPS range might be worth a look. Not sure about evesham.

Anyone got any other suggestions? When it comes to graphics cards should i be going for an ATI or GF nowadays? can someone explain the 1300xt 1900xt and geforce 7300 and 7600 to me? Mesh offer the later, is 7300 x 2 netter than 1900xt? all a bit confusing!

if your looking for good prices then cyberpowersystem.co.uk is good and have a good range of components for their custom pcs, dell in my opinion arent good, they have good priced base models but if you want to add say a gb of ram theyll charge you £100 when its worth half that.

    Geforce 7300 and ATI X1300 series = low/budget end
    Geforce 7600 and ATI X1600/1650 series= mainstream
Geforce 7800/7900/7950 and ATI X1800/1900/1950 series = high end

You can use 2 cards by having either a SLI or Crossfire motherboard which can get you up to double the performance but it varies. And I doubt that 2x7300 = better that a X1900XT.

A single 7600/7800/7900/7950 or ATI X1800/1900/1950 would be good for gaming.

not being negative, but just from what i have seen from this forum i wouldnt go with mesh, not because peoples compaints this happens with any system, but its the fact they all say that cs is a waste of time bar davey but one guy on a forum cant do everything.

i think that pc above looks good for the cost
