Me want Ultrabook
'Nearly' on 'some titles'?
Whats the average improvement?
2 power connector on 1 card, lol, that just nut. Too expensive for me anyway lol
Primary kit:
Fuji S5 Pro - Nikkor AF 50/1.8 - Nikkor AF 85/1.8
Epson RD-1
Film Kit:
Leica M3 - Summicron 50/2 DR - Zeiss ZM 25/2.8 - M-Rokkor 40/2
Olympus OM2n - Zuiko 50/2 Macro - Zuiko 50/1.4 - Zuiko 35/2.8
The gains are between 59 and 92%. However most games they tested showed the full 92% improvement, only one, prey, showed 60%. Impressive.
Wow, in DX9 too. Is it true DX10 archetecture?? They must just allocate a certain number of pipes statically as the different types, rather than changing per demand.
What will it be like with DX10 titles in Vista then?
^Does any of that make sense?^
Nice scores, still not buying one
im going to wait till the 2nd or 3rd gen cards.
that said i didnt expect this kind of performance
Way too expensive, way too annoyingly big. I need a decent computer first
With love and many thanks,

ill be waiting for either:
the 8900 (you know they will.. few improvements to the internal workings and a smaller fab for less power usage). or the equivalent of the 5900xt/6600gt/7600gt. then: if the "8600gt" is a descent amount faster than a 7900gt (current card) ill get one of those.. otherwise ill go for the 8900.
simple!

Near 50% increase in price too.
My X1900XT will keep me plenty warm this winter. Perhaps I'll look at a couple of 8800GTX next winter.
Well, the whole point of the G80 is simply to get the high score on the review sites, so it looks like they won there. But the next gen or so should be interesting.
I note that they say you only need a 450W PSU for a single card - that's not much at all by current standards.
Yeah, considering most people go overkill with their power supplys and buy 600watts when they really only need 300. That card probably wont need both conectors, I'm guessing they just put that to be safe for the overclockers.
I think they must be aiming for the "it uses loads of power and costs loads so it must be good" market.

Me wants.
But I will refrain from purchasing one just yet, not having problems with the 7900GTO at the moment, however.
How long until they relelase a 8850GX2? or probably the 8950GX2, thats going to take some beating, if it were to ever happen. anybody in the market for a card with 4 power connectors?
"I've heard there is a common problem with this item from forums" - If you read some forums they believe Elvis was abducted by aliens, doesn't mean it's true.
