    Cool Palit 7600GT - opinions

Thinking of purchasing this card from Scan - http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=457256

Anyone got an opinion on it ? Don't need top of the range, just good enough to play Neverwinter Nights 2, with eye candy on

It's a nice cheap card and I think Palit (I recall xpertvision's 7600 having the same fan?) built it to a good standard, it's a popular candidate for voltmods and things and it's the cheapest 7600gt there is.
Of course there's now the 7900GS and whatever else in the ~£110 range but that's £20 more expensive

If your res is higher than 1280x1024 then it would probably be worth going for the 7900GS but the 7600GT is fairly close in resolutions below 1280x1024 if i recall correctly.

The 7900gs is what I would go for, but I would wait until November 8th+ and watch how pricing goes then. What I will be doing as my 79gt has left the building and temp replaced by my outstanding 7300gt, I actually think I could get away with the 73gt until around the new year

Could someone tell me what's happening on November 8th?

One of the Scan moderators also advised waiting a few weeks before buying a 7900GS as the GTs may have dropped in price.
