    120GB SATA HD - should I partition?

Sorry for what's probably a dumb question, but I've new bits & pieces on the way to rebuild me dead PC, including a 120GB SATA HD.

I had an 80GB 133DMA on my last, in 2 40GB partitions (1 for Windows & a game or two, the other for everything else).

I'll be using the rebuilt system for games, probably formatted in NTFS.

Should I partition, or have 1 big drive?

my usual method is 10 gig for windows, and a big hunk of space for everything else. means i can keep all my documents, music, etc on a different drive to the one i format...

my 120gb is split into 3 at the moment... 10gb for winblows.. and 55gb for the other 2... works out nicely.

I have 2x120GB in my file/webserver set up as follows:

    HDD1
    20GB - Windows/Installed Apps
    30GB - Drivers/Patches/Demos/Free/shareware
    30GB - Backed up CDs
    40GB - SQL/HTTP server

    HDD2
    120GB - DVD Backups

It keeps it all in a nice organised fashion, which is now essential to me with my pcs. Gone are the days of a 40GB drive with MP3s/Windows/Apps all in one partition
