About LinkBackshi i heard that on conroe boards that you need an 8 pin connector of some sort can someone verify this for me as i have a hiper type r modular 580w but it has no 8 pin connector

Well mine has a four pin connector and i have the same PSU so I think it might depend on the motherboard.
yeah looks like it's only the top end 975x boards
IIRC you can, and it should work, buy a 4 -> 8 pin adapter, or just plug the 4 pin in.
