    going to 800 x 600 after boot.

here is a right pickle for you guys.

when i reboot my system the resolution is initially at 1600 x 1200 res. but when the system is about 90% ready the display drops down to 800 x 600. this has been going on for about a month. it started happening after i install force ware 93.71 beta drivers. now i have the whql version installed and it is still happening. i have killed all but standard windows startup programs and it is still happening.

    any help appreciated.

its possible the drivers weren't completely cleaned, try drivercleaner to reinstall the general release drivers.

could also check the forceware forum to see if anyones having similar problems as you with the beta
