Depends what you want your system for. And how much money you have.
There are always better products on the horizen. Don't wait for kentsfield.
Either go for the 6600 now and keep it. It will still be extremely fast for a long while.
Or go for a cheaper 6300 which is just as good for most uses, and stick in a kensfield later with the money saved.

Kentsfield isn't going to be cheap. Almost guaranteed to be north of £500. If you have that kinda money for a processor, stick a 6300 in now and get a kentsfield at release if not stick with C2D.
Depends what processing power you REALLY need. Dont forget that your average e6600 will hit 3ghz+ (nothing guaranteed, but very likely) and there still isnt that much that you need anything faster for ....yet! I have also read somewhere that Intel will be doing the quad core chips at the same price as the core duo chips and dropping the price on the core duo, but i cant remember where i saw that, in fact, i may have just made that up
Well, kentsfield is overkill unless you play Alan Wake. There is a preorder list for QX6700 and it is 970++ USD. That is way too much.
thanx for all your help guys. ill just get the E6600, i dont have 500 just for a CPU. thanx again
