    airflow question

I have this case(don't laugh)which doesn't have front intake grill. It has front fan mounting for 120mm fan however, my question is fitting 120mm fan will still improve air flow inside my case? Also in general what is the best way to create airflow (apart from getting new case) if your case doesn't have any intake grills? Any tips? Thanks.

wont it just draw air from the bottom of the front facia? if there is a way in for the air, then youll get some decent airflow.

No I don't think so, it's for F/Audio and USB stuffs. There is no air entrance as far as I can see.

If you look there will be a gap somewhere to draw air in, usually hidden in the door.

Unless you're having temp problems I wouldn't bother though.

I'm recieving new ATI graphic card(x1950pro) tomorrow so bit worried about case temp. This case has only one 80mm side intake fan which I believe is not enough? BTW, there are some better pictures here. As you can see there isn't any visible air intake holes. What should I do?

We sold that at work. I dont think there is anyway for air to get in at the front. No offence, but that case is dire

if its got an 80mm side intake fan, that ought to be plenty, you could always add a more powerful fan if you dont mind the noise.

If it's for a graphics card, you can often get away with removing the PCI backplates and sticking a fan there, don't think you're going to have any problems though tbh.

Yep, that's why it's called Dracula case BTW, I have another PC case that looks like an Alien. I must admit I have a bad taste.

Ok, thanks I'll try both your sugestions. I'm gonna change the intake fan to more powerful one and fit another small exhaust fan at the backplate.

BTW, how bout fitting 80mm fan in 5inch drive bay? Is it bad idea? Do you think the cold air will circulate inside the case or will it go straight out of exhaust fan at the back therefore useless?

A 80mm fan in a drive bay would help as that cool air would flow over the CPU and out and the cool air that once fed the CPU will cool something else or cool the CPU further.

Of course you'll be making more noise with an extra fan and it will be even uglier with a front plate missing

Check temps when your new card arrives and if there excessively high then think about messing with the fans or better yet selecting a better case.

The Akasa Zen is cheap and has pretty good cooling.

Thanks, great, so I will try adding another 80mm fan in 5inch drive bay and see how it works then. I don't mind the noise really, my pc is already VERY noisy and I think I'm now accustomed to it BTW which fan is best out there, do you know? I don't mind the noise, but I want something that can move a lot of air.Thanks.
