Hi Guys,
Was just wondering what webcams you would recommend as I'm in the market for one at the minute. Was thinking of spending about £40 and really just want as good video quality as possible,
Thanks,

Logitech for that kind price will do you well although for £40 you could buy a cheap Mustek digital camera so you've got a Webcam and you have one hell of a small camera
G4 PowerMac - Tiger 10.4 - 512MB RAM
MacBook - 2Ghz - 1GB RAM - 120GB HDD
Rotel RC970BX | DBX DriveRack |2x Rotel RB850
B&W DM640i | Velodyne 1512
Logitech are about the best out there. To be honest, the image quality on any webcam is pretty poor but the Logitech ones are better than most (especially the pro models). They also come with a very good software bundle.
There are only really 2 types to go for Cmos or CCD based sensor (the small cam/lens) if you want high quality pictures CCD is the way to go and yes Logitech are the best out there also very good software pack to. If you can go a bit higher with the money say £60.00 you could get the Logitech pro 4000 well worth the money has you will not need any other type of cam for a very long time.
60 quid....prolyl could go that far.....what about none usb cams like a network cam ?
Network cameras tend to be very expensive as they basically comprise of a camera and a mini-computer (usually running Linux). Very clever pieces of kit though, excellent for surveillence.

I have the Pro 4000 Logitech and it really is a damn good webcam, 9 foot lead, megapixel still images , 640x480 webcam, zoom + pan/tilt (software enhanced) and great software with it.
As far as webcams go its as good as you will get for the money, Network cams are very expensive.
yep i've got the 4000 too, its excellent - amazing how far they've come compared to the crappy cmos one I used to have.
Another vote for the 4000 excellent camera for the money video quality far superior to the 30-40 pound cams. Everyone who video conferences with me notices the difference to there own cheaper models and asks what i've got.
