A stupid question.....
As the title suggests this is probably a totally stupid question.
The question is regarding watching dvd's on my pc, and how its a noticably poorer quality that the tv.
Is this due to a.) The Screen or b.) The graphics card?
I have a 19" Widescreen Acer (8ms response) and a Albratron 6600 256MB PCI-E graphics card.
I have been planning to get a decent card for a while now, but just wondering would it only improve gaming?
Cheers guys for putting up with my silly questions. :shocked2:

I too might be silly for saying this, but i think its the DVD being stretched to fit your resolution?

only gaming unless you get a card with a really good dvd encoder on it
i have always found with watching dvds on a high resolution monitor will make it poorer as if i remember rightly tv picture is 800x600 or 640x480 by default so 1280x1024 is gonna stretch out the pixels
i do believe this is why they invented hd
also a good dvd player on the pc will help my personal favourite for quality is
nvdvd by nvidia you used to get it free with older gfx cards but i think you have to pay now
