Well the title kinda gives it away...
Is anyone aware of any pricedrops that are going to take place in the future as the dx10 cards make thier way into the mainstream?
Prices are already dropping, the card I have cost £150 two months ago, now it costs sub £100 and one that is a lot better costs £150.
As and when the DX10 cards are shipped out the prices for DX9 ones will drop also a short while later.

Cant see it happening just yet as the 8800 is a niche product right now. As DX10 hardware becomes more mainstream they'll to drop.
Agree with chuckskull.
I just bought a 7900GS, I don't really anticpate it (or other mid-range cards) droping much in price for quite a while. The higher end (7950s and X1900XT/1950XT) will probably see a respectable drop within a month or two however.
how much did you pay oralpain?

What you'll find is that by the time the 8000s become mainstream the 7000s will have largely sold out - there won't be any high-end 7000s for sale. I don't think you'll find a better bargain than the 7900GTO until you get a mid-price 8000 card.
Unless you go ATi Much better over here on the red side
