    Whats this???

I was just lookin at the boards im lookin to buy and i found this board on Newegg. this is the asus A7N8X-E deluxe ( http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...ion=13-131-478 ) ANd this looks like it might be the succesor to the A7N8X deluxe, it has gig lan, but its being sold first before asus could update their sire? i wonder if this is, cuase i searched google for this motherboard and found nothing. IS this for real?

OR is this jsut the next revision type thing for the asus amd boards?

What do you think, or am i jsut seeing things?

Can't find any info on it, not in review sites, search engines nor on any Asus websites. The -X line were inferior budget versions of Asus' mobos to do battle with the cheap end of the market (ECS etc) but I've never heard of -E (Extreme?).

On a side note this is even more perplexing ...

Where is the warning? Someone from an infamous auction site is using the asustek.org.uk as an e-mail address to sell ASUS graphics cards.

Maybe this board actually is the next "evolution" of the A7N8X

The warning is a little pop-up window top left, if you have pop-ups disabled (many sw can do it) then you won't see it.

IMHO it's quite clear they're hoping to pass themselves off as Asus and many people may be fooled. I just hope they do it to boost their sales rather than underhanded things like defrauding people or tarnishing Asus' great rep. Those preferred payment methods are very unprofessional and perfect for those looking to ... well I've said enough. Beware!

They are selling the A7N8X-E Deluxe at www.scan.co.uk although there are no details...

From what I have read on my searches, it is the upgrade of the A7N8X Deluxe and includes the nForce2 Ultra 400 northbridge and the MCP-T southbridge, and has dual Lan with 3Com Gigabit ethernet.

    I am still searching...

Couldn't Asus get on them for copyright infringement? (The logo). Plus the fact they are going by the exact same name... "ASUSTeK Computer Inc.".

It could be the latest revision of it (designed to compete with Abit's AN7?) but it doesn't seem truly better (or worse) than what would appear to be its predecessor.

Comparing it to the A7N8X Deluxe v2.0 it seems the same; Dual Channel DDR, nForce Ultra400, MCP-T, nVidia APU (Soundstorm), same size.

Perhaps they have addressed a few tiny side issues by including a SATA power cable, enhanced management (WfM 2.0 & PME), Gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi, better RAM support (A7N8X's only real wekaness was RAM pickiness), better o/c'ing (A7N8X was v.good anyway), updated layout (although layout was excellent), implimenting compatiblity with nVidia's tweaking sw and maybe they've even made the SPDIF in/out the black digital version rather than the composite looking analogue connection (AFAIK). There is a Gold version of the Asus A&N8X Deluxe v2.00 knocking around recently, perhaps the same thing? Perhaps it has the updates but unlike the Abit AN7 won't be crowned until they can impliment nVidia's southbridge SATA which appears to have been delayed (still ironing out GF-FX?). ALL perhaps really.

Possibly much like the Abit AN7 there isn't anything you really need nor that would warrant a higher price, in fact depending upon what has been changed it may not be as fast, stable, reliable etc as the A7N8X Deluxe v2.0 ... guess we'll have to see. If you're waiting to buy, I wouldn't.
