Borked geil.

SO...the other night I had my nice new E6300 at 2.8. I had a few error reports with firefox (but thought it was just FF). Anyway...playing BF2142 and sometimes it would just drop to desktop. Then...on monday night it all went hay-wire. Everything gave error reports, games crashed etc. I set everything to default...gutted that my setup wouldn't do 2.8 (which for my Geil ultra 6400 is stock)...as 2.8 shouldn't even make the chip sweat. ANYWAY...I set everything to default - still happened. I took one mem stick out (2*512), and voila! It seems uber now. I've ran a memtest on the faulty stick and on the first pass I got 33000 errors @ 70% . The other stick passed the first pass with 0 errors. Now I have to treck to microdirect to get it replaced (I guess I should get it replaced on the spot).

I upgraded from a 3700 754/2gb geil...I want 2gb again but with the current cost I'm waitin till I get money from my temp job (27th dec).

Geil has a lifetime warrant, just RMA it.

This might sound like an obvious suggest, make sure it's at it's rated volts or higher(seen it done and done it myself far too many times).
