    RAM:CPU Ratio on NF7-S

There's a variety of options for this on my NF7-S. Currently using

    3:3

But there are others such as

    4:4
    5:5
    6:6

I presume these are all exactly the same? Any reason for having them if they all mean 1:1?

    Thanks

    PCI bus ratio?

But they're all 1:1 so I doubt much will come of it.

Its supposedly related to the PCI bus speed of 33.333

    If you are running 200FSB you should run 6:6 (6x33.3=200), 166 5:5, 133 4:4 so they say.

Ive been told that for best performance with an NF7-S you need 6:6.

However when i changed it from 3:3 to 6:6 it wouldnt run by overclocked settings, 195fsb (RAM synced.)

it doesnt make fa difference which ratio you use of the ones listed tbh. pci and agp are always locked and are changed seperatly, ratios are just for the ram and cpu.

Yup and it's a ratio anyway so 1:1, 3:3, 6:6 etc all mean the same thing. However there was reports that 6:6 (IIRC) seems to be optimal for some reason, it can give you the extra few mhz FSB when o/c'ing. Also (again IIRC) which 2 RAM slots you use can also help max o/c's, of course you always want to keep Dual Channel enabled. Back to the FSB:RAM ratio you always want to keep it synced on nForce2, AFAIK only KT333/400 (and presumably KT600) could gain perf by running async and thenit was running the RAM faster than FSB. In SktA only nForce2 can lock PCI & AGP but not all do so it can be worth checking what they are reported as. Sorry for babbling, I really need sleep!

Use 6:6 - it allows slightly tighter timings for some reason
