USB to Parallel printer adapter - any potential issues?

Sounds ok in theory, but is anyone aware of any potential issues if I use a USB to Parallel convertor to connect up an HP PSC 500 all-in-one printer/scanner ?

I would have normally recommended just to get a new printer, but Scan do an adapter for just over £8 and if I can boost the order to £20 for free delivery then it just about becomes worthwhile and I really do hate binning things that are still basically ok.

why would you want to convert USB to parallel mate?

it will be okay so long as your pc has no more than 4 parallel ports installed but since your asking this im sure you will be fine

because the printer only has a parallel port and the new PC doesn't have a parallel port.

I'm always up for it, but the girlfriend's a staunch USB to parallel kind of gal.
